Apache, Tomcat, PHP, MySQL, JSP, Linux, Windows... Choices???

I'm developing a shopping-cart style online E-commerce website, similar to amazon where users select their items to a cart and checkout paying by supplying their card details.
However before i start implementing my code
I recommend LINUX for an OS. It is more stable and is more efficient in its use of the hardware and processor. CentOS is the LINUX you want to use.
Apache is used by far more websites than any other. It is more versatile and configurable





It's almost impossible to believe now, but when Microsoft premiered its Windows Azure service back in October 2008, there was genuine speculation over whether the company would try to muscle its way into the cloud the way it did with Internet Explorer during the war with Netscape. What was the hook? What Windows service or feature would be so irresistible that would require Azure, that no other competitor would be able to gain a footing?
NAS: Windows Home Server with 2 2TB drives. Backups of all computers at home (wife and 2 kids makes for a busy network) along with shares for photos, music, software and videos. Drive duplication to provide drive failure protection.
