How to make a form with MySQL validation.?

Hi,
I would like to create a web form that allows someone to enter their email address. Before the form is submitted, I would like it to check if the email address is already registered in a MySQL database. Is there a tuturial or documentation

Query the database first to see if the email address is already in their

SELECT email
FROM myTable
WHERE email = 'email@email.com'
