How to evaluate an adult care facility

North Carolinians looking for information on adult care c an find a helpful database provided by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
The DHHS’ Division of Health Service Regulation licenses and monitors adult care in the state. Adult care centers are rated on a star system, with four stars being the highest.
Here is how the stars are awarded:
Four stars: 100 or greater points on two consecutive annual surveys Three stars: 90.0 to 99.9 Two stars: 80.0-89.9 One star: 70.0-79.9
The Wake Forest Care Center, for example, had a three-star rating based on an inspection July 18. It also clicks to a worksheet from that inspection that details the demerits the inspection discovered. But that three-star rating was high for the facility.
For example, Wake Forest Care Center received one star in 2010, zero stars in three separate inspections in 2009 and one star in a different inspection in 2009.
There are 29 adult care facilities in Wake County that carry a four-star rating, 34 that carry a three-star and only three that carry a two-star.
