What are the difficulties in creating any form of Integrated data storage?

I'm doing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. The Course is Business Intelligence. Business Intelligence refers to a conceptual framework for decision support. It combines architecture, databases(or data warehouses), analytical tools, and applications.

I'm not sure but i believe the answer is:

The smart meters will capture residential energy-use data in hourly increments and business energy-use data and pump it back to Teradata's active enterprise data warehouse platform for immediate action.

Teradata currently has four clients in telecommunications and banking. Maybank and DiGi are two of them, which have Teradata's technology to track consumer behaviour to improve their products and services.
